Every song in one way or another is the result of excessive access to excess. The album is excessive in its exploration of excess. The name comes from a 1921 drawing by the German artist George Grosz referencing capitalism in all sorts of excess.
Also - bonus points! - the band’s fourth album has a title we can abide by: I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master. Yeah, they’ve done a lot since then - like drug buying, dance commanding, gay-bar hanging - but we’d sorta forgotten until a bit on Fluxbog reminded us of how much fun the Detroit six-piece can be. Last time we ran into Electric Six, ironical vocalist Dick Valentine was wearing some sort of flashing codpiece, while an old woman (with flashing breast parts) mouthed Jack White’s backing vocals.
